Nice to have a new brewery and additional option downtown Des Moines. Nice place, ample parking, big patio, great atmosphere and excellent service. The apps were not my favorite, but not bad. Plenty of food options. Totally worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The staff was amazing. The beer was good. We had a large group and did not have to wait for a table. I think this is a great spot to hang out and ha e a couple of local brews.

We took a group of 11 to Lua Brewing last night and had a fantastic time. They had a nice large table to sit at and the beer and food was very good. Got the Smush Burger because I guess you have to when you go there and it did not disappoint at all. No idea when I’ll be back in Des Moines again, but definitely stopping here when I am. Beer selection was simple, lacked variety, but it was all really good.

Lua is a very relaxed atmosphere. their personnel are very knowledgeable, and their furnishing gives off vibes of a tropical beach with a HomeTown brewery in the back. the food choices are definitely unique but very accommodating. today I had their their fried chicken sandwich. the flavor was satisfying and full of flavor, despite the fried portion being burnt. Their chicken seems to be chicken thighs instead of the typical breast only, so you'll notice quite a bit more flavor. Their bartender was very sociable and went out of his way, to ask what might be a means to make the sandwich better. Decorative brewery with ample portions in a downtown location.

Lovely beer, lovely patio, and lovely food. Vegetarian options for the win. Their Greek salad was so good, same goes for their french fries. Beers tasted great and were refreshing. You have to order your food via smart phone, so plan accordingly. The patio is dog friendly with water offered. Also the patio had Cornhole set up.

Amazing place for a beer with friends. The patio area outside is super nice. Dog friendly and lots of room on the patio. You order at the table via a QR code and they are quick to bring stuff to your table. The IPA were Citrusy and perfect. Great place. Lots of parking too.

The food was delicious, the burger was very tasty and the salad was simple but refreshing. The beer selection was good but as you can tell from the photo there is a lack of visual diversity in the IPA selection. But the selection was still good enough to be worthy of a return trip. Outdoor seating was very welcome and while there was plenty of space inside the patio is a very comfortable place to enjoy without a lot of road noise or traffic noise.

Service was amazing Food: Amazing Beers: Amazing We went to Lua with another friend and had a great time catching up on their beautiful outdoor patio. If possible are not your thing then their indoor seating is very comfortable too. we ordered the carnitas nachos, tofu bites, grilled zucchini, chicken Caesar wrap which came with a chili. We shared the pineapple pannicotta which was made with coconut milk. Everything was amazing! We tried several beers, each one was amazing. I would recommend making your own flight to try them out.

We found this gem passing through Des Moines…. Our bartender Grant was very knowledgeable about the beers and the menu! Super nice guy! We had a few IPAs which were very good… I enjoyed a half BLT with side house salad and chips w/salsa… very tasty lunch! If you’re in the area, definitely worth a stop ????????
